The following is a list of scholarships from the 2024 CKCF Scholarship Central season. You may register at any time, but Scholarship Central opens for applications January 1 each year. 

All scholarship applications in Scholarship Central require the following documentation:

  • Official transcript – provided by academic counselor
  • ACT and/or SAT scores – provided by academic counselor

Scholarship Central accepts applications from January 1 – March 1 each year. These applications are for scholarships to be used during the upcoming academic year beginning with the fall semester and concluding the following summer term.
Some scholarships require additional documentation, which is listed on each application. Scholarship applicants must meet specific criteria for each scholarship. Award amounts and the number of awards are estimates and are subject to change from year to year.

Scholarships Available In 2024

2024 Andrew Kyle Mykytiuk Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a male, graduating high school senior who is an active participant with Hardin County Lacrosse for a least one year
  • He must be pursuing a technical or academic course of study and demonstrate a desire to achieve his educational goals
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA

2024 Ann Ewing Memorial Scholarship

  • The applicant must be a Nelson County High School or Bethlehem High School graduating senior
  • Completed at least four years of advanced math courses to include accelerated Algebra II, geometry, precalculus and AP Calculus
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Audrey Shoulders Memorial Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a Central Hardin High School graduating senior
  • A current member of FFA or the CHHS Archery Team
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay describing the impact on your personal growth and development from your involvement with either FFA or the Archery team

2024 Bardstown Rotary Scholarships – $1,000 for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from Bardstown High School, Bethlehem High School, Nelson County High School or Thomas Nelson High School
  • ACT score of 20 or higher
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

2024 BCD, Inc and J. Michael Salsman, PE Construction Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Nelson County
  • Plan to pursue a career in construction or engineering related field
  • Priority to applicants who are family members of BCD employees, customers, subcontractors, or suppliers
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Becca Bohannon Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a female graduating senior from Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Meade or Nelson County
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay describing how service to others has been an important part of your growth and development

2024 Bob Brown Family Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior for Hardin County
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates a desire and financial need to achieve their educational goals

2024 Brent Wagoner Excellence in Education Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a Central Hardin High School graduating senior
  • Must have attended East Hardin Middle School
  • Demonstrate extra-curricular involvement
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • Letter of recommendation from a non-family member who knows you well
  • A list of all extra-curricular activities

2024 Brianna Taylor Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Hardin County.
  • A female varsity athlete
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • A list of all athletic involvement
  • A list of all extra-curricular activities
  • Letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher, or sponsor

2024 Brice Taylor Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in Hardin County.
  • A male varsity athlete
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • A list of all athletic involvement
  • A list of all extra-curricular activities
  • Letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher, or sponsor

2024 Carol Johnson Literacy Memorial Scholarship – $1,500 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from Bardstown High School
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Plans to pursue a career in education

  • an essay on “Why have you decided to become an educator?”
  • Letter of recommendation

  • Completed at least four years of advanced English and/or Drama courses
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Col. Larry and Betty Sue French Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a Hardin County student attending or planning to attend Western Kentucky University Elizabethtown Campus
  • Pursuing any academic or vocational field of study
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Dana Marie Underdonk Bryant Memorial Scholarship – $2,000 award

  • The applicant must be a female graduating senior from a high school in Hardin County
  • Planning to attend college to pursue a course of study in marketing/business or has been active in high school tennis
  • Cumulative 3.5 GPA

2024 Deana’s 7th Inning Stretch Scholarship – Baseball/Softball – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating high school senior in one of the following counties: Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington Counties.
  • They must be an active high school baseball player or active in performing arts.
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay on how baseball or softball influenced your life.

2024 Dennis and Lisa Parrett Family Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduate of a high school in Hardin County, Kentucky
  • The applicant must have completed one year of college course work past high school
  • Enrolled for the 2021-2022 academic year at the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment
  • Pursuing any academic or vocational field of study within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • Copy of your college transcripts for any post-secondary institution attended
  • If your college transcript does not reflect current enrollment at the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment, please attach proof of acceptance into the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment at the University of Kentucky for the 2021-2022 academic year
  • An essay explaining what you think the agriculture and food supply chain field will be like in the next 10 years and what interests you about working in this area

2024 Dr. Chandler Park and Du Sun Watts Family Healthcare Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • Applicant must be a high school senior in Hardin County, Kentucky
  • Applicant must be planning to attend college and pursue pre-medicine in any college major
  • Cumulative 3.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay describing why you would like to become a physician.

2024 Dr. Don Berry Memorial Veterinarian Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a high school graduating senior, preference given to LaRue County High School
  • Plan to pursue a career in Veterinarian Science
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay explaining why you have decided to become a veterinarian

2024 Dr. Gary King Sharp Memorial Scholarship – $500 award

  • Priority given to applicant whose family is connected with Hospice services or within the foster care system
  • Priority given to students who are the first in their family to go to college
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Dr. Jim Owen Memorial Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior in high school
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay explaining how you have helped your family or made your community a better place to live
  • A list of all community service involvement in the past four years

2024 Dr. Linda Mayhew STEM Scholarship – $500 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior in high school
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Plan to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay explaining why the applicant has chosen a STEM related field of study and why the applicant has chosen to start their higher education at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College

2024 Elizabethtown High School Class of 1966 – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be an Elizabethtown High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Feleshia Denham Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a Elizabethtown High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Plans to pursue a technical or academic course of study
  • Demonstrates interest and commitment to physical fitness and citizenship
  • Demonstrates desire and financial need to achieve their educational goals

2024 Glenn D. and Bennie Lou Hammons Family Scholarship – $750 award

  • The applicant must be a resident of Hardin County
  • Cumulative 2.5-3.5 GPA

2024 Gourmand’s International Culinary Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a Culinary Arts student at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College or a high school senior enrolling in the Culinary Arts program at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College

Additional documentation requirements:

  • A letter of recommendation
  • Current ECTC students: letter of recommendation from a professor in the Culinary Arts department
  • Other students: letter of recommendation from a relevant person who can speak to your interest and aptitude in Culinary Arts
  • An essay expressing why you should be selected for a college scholarship

2024 Hardin County Bar Association Scholarship – $2,000 award

  • The applicant must be a resident of Hardin County
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how you are an example of a good citizen, how you exhibit a keen sense of justice and fair play in your attitude towards others, why the financial assistance is important to you and any interest you have in a legal career
  • Letter of recommendation from guidance counselor or principal

2024 Hardin County Bar Association Teen Court Scholarship – $2,000 award

  • The applicant must be a resident of Hardin County
  • The applicant must participate in Teen Court
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how you are an example of a good citizen, how you exhibit a keen sense of justice and fair play in your attitude towards others, why the financial assistance is important to you and any interest you have in a legal career
  • Letter of recommendation from guidance counselor or principal

2024 Hardin County Cattlemen’s Association Hansell G. Pile, Sr. Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a college student attending a university or technical school in Kentucky
  • The applicant or a member of the applicant’s family should be involved in production agriculture or agri-business

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior in high school
  • The applicant or a member of the applicant’s family should be involved in production agriculture or agri-business
  • The applicant must be planning to attend a university or technical school in Kentucky

2024 Hardin County Lacrosse Scholarship – $250 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior for a Hardin County high school
  • The applicant must have played at least one full season of lacrosse.
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Hardin County Principal Organization Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a Hardin County Schools graduating senior
  • Plan to pursue a career in education
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

2024 Harold and Cynthia Carter Memorial Scholarship – $2,000 award for multiple students (renewable)

  • The applicant must be a LaRue County High School graduating senior or a previous graduate of LaRue County High School
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Cumulative 2.0 GPA

2024 Hart County Scholarship Alliance – Various award amounts for multiple students

  • Students are invited to apply for tuition, fees, and class expenses for both two- and four- year college tracks as well as vocational courses leading to degrees and/or certifications.
  • Open to any Hart County High School student graduating during or at the end of the 2021-2022 school year
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • Letter of recommendation from a teacher speaking to the students work ethic and if applicable their interest/aptitude in their course of study

2024 Heart of Kentucky Association of Realtors Scholarship – $1,000 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a Central Hardin High School, Elizabethtown High School, Fort Knox High School, John Hardin High School, LaRue County High School, Meade County High School or North Hardin High School graduating senior or attend any accredited high school in these districts
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay on the importance of home ownership
  • A letter of recommendation from a non-family member who knows you well
  • A letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher or sponsor qualified to speak on the applicant’s potential to succeed

2024 J.R. and Carrie Lee Edwards Scholarship – $2,000 award for multiple students (renewable)

  • The applicant must be a LaRue County High School graduating senior or a previous graduate of LaRue County High School
  • Plan to pursue a career in teaching or education
  • Completed at least fifteen units of college-bound core curriculum
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing why you should be selected for a college scholarship
  • A letter of recommendation from a non-family member expressing why the applicant would make a great educator.

2024 Jacob Barber & Katarina Peeters Memorial Scholarship – $500 for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a John Hardin High School graduating senior
  • A current member of the JHHS Archery Team
  • Cumulative 2.0 GPA

2024 James and Betty Holeman Scholarship – $2,000 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from a high school in the Lincoln Trail Region of Kentucky (Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington counties)
  • Plan to attend a two or four year academic or technical school
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 John Dink Memorial Scholarship – $2,000 for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a resident of Hardin County
  • Plan to attend a Kentucky college or university
  • Cumulative 2.8 GPA

2024 J.T. Wiglesworth Automotive Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be graduating senior from a school in Hardin County
  • Plan to attend a two-year technical or trade school
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Kacy Lee Johnson Memorial Scholarship

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from a Kentucky high school, or a previous graduate from a Kentucky school
  • Attending the University of Louisville or plan to attend and pursue any nursing or medical field of study
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA

2024 Kathy Mattingly Kidwell Memorial Scholarship – $500 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a Nelson County High School or Thomas Nelson High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay describing how your community service activities have impacted you as well as those you have served

2024 Lanny Skees Memorial Scholarship – $2,000 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a Central Hardin High School graduating senior
  • Plan to attend Western Kentucky University
  • Pursuing a career in an agricultural science field
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing why you have chosen a career in agriculture
  • Letter of recommendation from a non-family member who knows you well
  • Letter of recommendation from your FFA advisor

2024 Larry and Carol Kimberlain Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior in Breckinridge, Grayson, Hart, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, or Washington Counties
  • The applicant must plan to attend a two- or four-year public or not-for-profit academic or technical school
  • Financial need to pay for college is significant criteria for this scholarship
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Lisa Hays Charness Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be an Elizabethtown High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay explaining why you should be selected for a college scholarship

2024 Llewellyn Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award for up to 25 people (renewable)

  • The applicant must be a Hardin County Schools graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

  • An essay explaining why you should be selected for a college scholarship

2024 Mac Michaelis Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a resident of Hardin County
  • Pursuing a career in law enforcement
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing why you want a career in law enforcement and what influenced this decision
  • Preference will be given to an applicant whose parent/guardian is current or retired member of the Fraternal Order of Police, United States Mint, Military Police, or a local law enforcement agency

2024 Martha Jane Hamilton Nursing Scholarship – Up to full tuition (renewable)

  • The applicant must be a Meade County High school graduating senior or a previous graduate of Meade County High School
  • Enrolled to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Pursuing a career in nursing
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing why you should be selected for a college scholarship
  • Letter of recommendation from a non-family member expressing why the applicant would make a great nurse

2024 Mike and Sharon Bell Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a current Hardin County Water District No. 2 customer or an active member of Glendale Christian Church for at least 5 years
  • Plan to attend a two or 4 year academic or technical school
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

2024 Mildred Rowlett Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a Hart County graduating senior
  • The applicant must be in the top 15% of their graduating class
  • Plan to pursue a degree in mathematics or closely associated curriculum

2024 Morrison Masonic Lodge No. 76, F&A.M. Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a graduate of John Hardin High School or Elizabethtown High School

2024 Nandi’s Smile Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a graduate of North Hardin High School
  • The applicant must be actively involved in music and community
  • Plans to pursue higher education in STEM studies
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

2024 Nugent McGrew Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from Grayson or Hardin County
  • Plans to attend a two or four year academic or technical school
  • Demonstrates a desire and financial need to achieve their educational goals.
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Obviously Analiese Scholarship – $3,000 award

  • The applicant must be a John Hardin High School graduating senior
  • Plan to attend a 4-year university in the state of Kentucky
  • Cumulative 2.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay explaining how you plan to give back to the community around you through your experience in higher education

2024 Owen J. Estes, Sr. Memorial Scholarship – Up to $5,000

  • The applicant must be a Hart County High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • Letter of recommendation from a non-family member who knows you well

2024 Patricia Goodman Memorial Scholarship – $2,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating high school senior within the CKCF service region, with priority given to residents of Hardin County
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Plan to pursue a career in nursing or a medical field.

2024 Patrick Eldon Bergman Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a resident of Meade County and a graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay, “How has bullying, suicide or depression affected your life?” 
  • One recommendation by a nonfamily member that speaks to the character of the applicant

2024 Patty Lirot Memorial Scholarship – $750 award

  • The applicant must be a North Hardin High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 3.5 GPA

2024 PFC Sammie Phillips Memorial Scholarship – $750 award

  • The applicant must be a North Hardin High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.0 GPA

2024 Phillip “Duke” and Florence Deeb Owen Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior from Elizabethtown High School
  • The applicant must be a school athlete or an active participant in other school activities.
  • Cumulative 2.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Essay describing his or her personal and career goals, as well as significant experiences or circumstances that would reflect on consideration of this scholarship

2024 Rae of Sunshine Kentucky Scholarship – $2,000 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be enrolled in an accredited program pursuing a career in the mental health field
  • The applicant may be a graduate or undergraduate student
  • The applicant must be within two years of expected graduation date
  • Demonstrate leadership, kindness, and passion for helping others
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • How would this scholarship money help you to achieve your goals?
  • Tell us why mental health is important to you.
  • What does Taylor’s story mean to you?

2024 Randy Pinkston Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a Nelson County High School or Thomas Nelson High School graduating senior
  • Plan to pursue a degree and career in the special education field
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay explaining why you have chosen a career in special education

2024 Ray Harm Art Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • Applicant must be a graduate of Nelson County High School
  • Plan to study visual or performing arts in college

Additional documentation requirements:

  • Must submit a portfolio to include a self-portrait, landscape, still life and two art pieces of choice with an explanation as to why those two pieces were chosen.

2024 Robin Bohannon Scholarship – $500 award

  • Applicant must reside in one of 9 counties served by CKCF (Breckinridge, Grayson, Hardin, Hart, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, and Washington)
  • Must be a female student who has been out of school at least 5 years
  • Scholarship focus will be on financial need; academic performance is not a criteria

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay on why are you choosing to restart your education now and how do you hope it changes your life and your family’s life

2024 Robin Wilson Rutledge Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a graduating high school senior from Hart County High School
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA
  • Applicant must be involved in music or band and be involved or have a leadership role in a church of Christian faith.

2024 Rylee Marie Razon Memorial Equine Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a Hardin County Schools graduating senior
  • Plan to pursue a career in equine studies
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay explaining why you should be selected for a college scholarship

2024 Schmidt Family Scholarship – Up to $5,000

  • The applicant must be an Elizabethtown High School graduating senior
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

2024 Taylor and June Spaulding Memorial Scholarship – $500 award

  • The applicant must be a Washington County High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay choosing from one of the following:
  • Explain a time when you faced an obstacle or challenge. How did you handle this difficulty and what did you learn about yourself from the experience? How do you see this experience shaping your future?
  • Describe your experience(s) with serving others. What did you learn about others from serving them? What did you learn about yourself? How do you see your service experience shaping the future?

2024 Taylor Martin Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • The applicant must be a Thomas Nelson High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay describing who or what inspires you
  • Letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher or sponsor who knows you well
  • A list of athletic club or team involvement

2024 Trooper Ponder Memorial Scholarship – $954 for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a graduating senior living and attending school in Hardin or Meade counties
  • Open to students pursuing any academic or vocational field of study; priority to applicants pursuing Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement

Must have three or more of the following Trooper Ponder Memorial Scholarship qualifications:

  • Parent/Guardian is active military or military veteran with honorable discharge or was killed-in-action
  • Parent/Guardian is current or retired full-time police officer or fell to line of duty death
  • Student competed for at least 3 years in one of the following high school sports: track/field, baseball, or football
  • Student academic rating is B (3.0) or higher
  • Student will pursue a career in criminal justice or law enforcement
  • Student will enlist in active military service
  • Student has donated ten or more documented hours to community service
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

2024 Tyler Foster Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award for multiple students

  • The applicant must be a Nelson County High School or Thomas Nelson High School graduating senior
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

  • An essay describing how you have made an impact on others in the community
  • A letter of recommendation from a non-family member/non-educator who knows you well
