The 2017 Scholarship Central Season

The following is a list of scholarships from the 2017 CKCF Scholarship Central season. You may register at any time, but Scholarship Central opens for applications in January each year.

All scholarship applications in Scholarship Central require the following documentation:

  • Official transcript – provide by academic counselor
  • ACT and/or SAT scores – provided by academic counselor
  • Copy of your full Student Aid Report (SAR) when you complete the FAFSA (fafsa.ed.gov) – uploaded by applicant
  • Copy of acceptance letter to college/university – uploaded by applicant

Some scholarships require additional documentation, which is listed below. Scholarship applicants must meet specific criteria for each scholarship. Award amounts and the number of awards are estimates at this time.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE IN 2017

Brent Wagoner Excellence in Education Scholarship – $500 award

  • Must be a graduating senior from Central Hardin High school
  • Must have attended East Hardin Middle School
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Open to students pursuing any academic or vocational field of study
  • Demonstrate extra-curricular involvement

       Additional documentation requirements:

  • letter of recommendation from a non-family member who knows you well

Brice Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund – $1,000 award

  • A graduating senior at Elizabethtown High School
  • A male varsity athlete
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

       Additional documentation requirements:

  • list of all EHS athletic involvement
  • A list of all EHS extra-curricular activities (denote FCA involvement)
  • letter of recommendation from a coach, teacher or sponsor

Brianna Taylor Memorial Scholarship Fund – $1,000 award

  • A graduating senior at Elizabethtown High School
  • A female varsity athlete
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

       Additional documentation requirements:

  • list of all EHS athletic involvement
  • A list of all EHS extra-curricular activities (denote FCA involvement)
  • letter of recommendation from a coach, teach or sponsor

Dennis and Lisa Parrett Family Scholarship Fund *New in 2017* 

  • The applicant must be a graduate of a high school in Hardin County, Kentucky
  • The applicant must have completed one year of college course work past high school
  • Enrolled for the 2017-2018 academic year at the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture, Food and Environment
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Open to students pursuing any academic or vocational field of study within the College of Agriculture, Food and Environment

       Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing what you think the agriculture and food supply chain field will be like in the next 10 years and what interests you about working in this area.

Dr. Jim Owen Memorial Scholarship – $500 award

  • A graduating senior in high school
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Cumulative 2.75 GPA

           Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how this scholarship will grow your ability to positively impact your community
  • list of all community service involvement in the past four years

Dr. Linda Mayhew STEM Scholarship – $500 award

  • A graduating senior in high school
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA
  • Pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering or mathematics

           Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing why applicant has chosen a STEM related field of study and why the applicant has chosen to start their higher education at ECTC.

ECTC Returning Student Scholarship from Central Kentucky Community Foundation – award amounts vary for multiple students

  • A returning ECTC student
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Open to students pursing any academic or vocational field of study

ECTC Scholarship from Central Kentucky Community Foundation – award amounts vary for multiple students

  • A graduating senior in high school
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Open to students pursing any academic or vocational field of study

Elizabethtown High School Class of 1966 Scholarship Fund – $1,000 award

  • A graduating senior at Elizabethtown High School
  • Cumulative 2.8 – 3.2 GPA

Gourmands International Culinary Scholarship Fund *New in 2017* 

  • A Culinary Arts student at ECTC

J.R. and Carrie Lee Edwards Scholarship – $2,000 award (renewable)

  • A graduating senior at LaRue County High School or previous graduate of LaRue County High School
  • Attended LaRue County High School for at least two consecutive years prior to graduation
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Pursuing a career in teaching or education
  • Completed 15 units of college-bound core curriculum

           Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how this scholarship will grow your ability to positively impact your community
  • Letter of recommendation from a non-family member expressing why the applicant would make a great educator

John Dink Memorial Scholarship – $2,000 award for multiple students

  • A resident of Hardin County
  • A graduating senior in high school
  • Plan to attend a Kentucky college or university
  • Cumulative 2.8 GP

Kelley Miller State Farm Scholarship – Elizabethtown – $500 award

  • A graduating senior from Elizabethtown High School
  • Plan to attend a Kentucky college or university
  • 2.7 to 3.25 GPA

            Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how this scholarship will grow your ability to positively impact your community

Kelley Miller State Farm Scholarship – Hardin County – $500 award

  • A graduating senior from Hardin County Schools
  • Plan to attend a Kentucky college or university
  • 2.7 to 3.25 GPA

            Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how this scholarship will grow your ability to positively impact your community

Lanny Skees Memorial Scholarship – $2,000 award

  • A graduating senior from Central Hardin High School
  • Plan to attend Western Kentucky University
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Pursuing a career in agricultural science field

            Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how this scholarship will grow your ability to positively impact your community
  • Letter of recommendation from non-family member who knows you well
  • Letter of recommendation from FFA advisor

Lisa Hays Charness Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award

  • A graduating senior at Elizabethtown High School
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Llewellyn Memorial Scholarship – $1,000 award for up to 25 students (renewable)

  • A graduating senior from Hardin County Schools
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

Martha Jane Hamilton Memorial Nursing Scholarship – Up to full tuition (renewable)

  • A graduating senior from Meade County High School or a previous graduate of Meade County High School
  • Enrolled to attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA
  • Pursuing a career in nursing

            Additional documentation requirements:

  • An essay expressing how this scholarship will grow your ability to positively impact your community
  • Letter of recommendation from a non-family member expressing why this applicant would make a great nurse

Owen J. Estes, Sr. Memorial Scholarship

  • A graduating senior from Hart County High School
  • Plan to attend a public institution of higher learning
  • Cumulative 2.5 GPA

            Additional documentation requirements:

  • Letter of recommendation from a non-family member who knows you well

Schmidt Family Scholarship 

  • A graduating senior at Elizabethtown High School
  • Plan to attend Elizabethtown Community & Technical College
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA

Trooper Ponder Scholarship *New in 2017* 

  • A graduating senior living and attending school in Hardin County
  • Further criteria listed on scholarship application
