Paddlers with a Purpose

What Does Philanthropy Look Like?

An idea.  Connecting people.  Sharing a desire to better our community.

In late 2014, Matt Deneen laid out a plan to install a handicap accessible dock at Freeman Lake. On Memorial Day, the Bob and Ella Mae Wade Canoe and Kayak Dock was dedicated, bring new outdoor recreation opportunities to disabled veterans, handicapped and elderly people in our community as well as their families.11230729_10153325806139264_98866914833062321_n

When presented with a great idea, our community is generous and will step up to bring the idea to reality.

“It goes beyond veterans organizations.  It goes beyond civic organizations.  It goes beyond corporate partnerships.  It’s amazing what can be accomplished when we all pull together,” said Matt Deneen.
