Colby Key Awarded Brice Taylor Memorial Scholarship

July 28, 2017 – Elizabethtown High School student Colby Key, son of Joseph and Amy Key, was awarded the Brice Taylor Memorial Scholarship from Central Kentucky Community Foundation.

The Brice Taylor Memorial Scholarship was established in 2015, following the death of Brice Taylor. His parents, David and Tonya Taylor, established the scholarship in his name to honor his memory and help other students attend college.

The qualifications to be eligible for this scholarship are as following: a graduating senior from EHS, a 3.0 GPA and a male varsity athlete. Applicants were to submit their proof of enrollment, a list of extracurricular activities and a recommendation letter from a coach, teacher or club sponsor.

“It is rewarding to help our donors invest in students through our scholarship program, Scholarship Central,” said Davette B. Swiney, President and CEO of CKCF. “Their commitment to future generations and the importance of education is truly something that makes our community special. It is an honor to support students from across our region as they pursue their educational and life goals.”

The Brice Taylor Memorial scholarship is part of 98 scholarships being awarded by CKCF this year through Scholarship Central. The scholarships total nearly $115,000 and were awarded to 81 students at 8 high schools and two colleges in the region. More information on this scholarship and other scholarships available to students can be found at Scholarship Central at www.ckcf4people.org.
